The Alpena IceDiggers announced today they have signed forward Tyler Pilmore for the 2007-2008 season. The Sylvania, Ohio native is currently in his second season playing with the Toledo Cherokee of the Central States Hockey League.
Pilmore, 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, has scored 15 goals and added 29 assists for 44 points in 33 games so far this season. The right winger suited up for one IceDigger game this season in a 6-2 win over Marquette in early January.
"Tyler is the kind of player we look for when we go out and recruit," Alpena head coach Kenny Miller said. "He is solid two-way player that can score and he is a great student in the classroom. He and his family take his studies very serious. He will be a great addition to our club."
Pilmore is coached by former NHLer Iain Duncan.
"Iain has great things to say about Tyler," added Miller. "He is a hard-working kid with a great work ethic and that's what we want here in Alpena."
