Saginaw signs first-rounder Pachis

The Saginaw Spirit have announced the signing of forward Daniel Pachis.

Pachis was drafted by the Spirit in the first round, 16th overall, of the 2007 OHL Priority Selection. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

“We are pleased to welcome Daniel and his family to the Saginaw Spirit,” stated Spirit general manager Sheldon Ferguson. “We look forward to Daniel joining all Spirit prospects at our mini-camp in early August.”

Pachis played his minor hockey with the Whitby Wildcats of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. Last season, Pachis scored 50 goals and added 31 assists for 81 points.

The 1991-born Pachis is a native of Whitby, Ontario, and is currently listed at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds.
