Former Detroit Red Wings defenseman and CHL alumnus Jiri Fischer will be skating in the ‘Shocks and Saves’ charity game on March 1 in Saginaw.
The occasion marks the first time that Fischer will participate in a hockey game since Nov. 21, 2005, when he collapsed on the Red Wings' bench due to heart complications.
The ‘Shocks and Saves’ charity game was organized by the Michigan Cardiovascular Institute (MCVI) Foundation and presented by Biotronik 'Excellence for Life,' Covenant Health Care, MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland, the MCVI and Mobile Medical Response.
The game will be played at 5:00 p.m. with a special $10 ticket that also includes admission to the following Saginaw Spirit home game against the Windsor Spitfires.
