According to reports in the Flint Journal, the NAHL's Alpena IceDiggers are in the processing of being bought and moved to Flint.The IHL's Flint Generals would probably fold, opening up the chance for the IceDiggers to be the main tenant at Perani Arena.
Should this happen, the IceDiggers would be the third junior team in the area as the Flint Jr. Generals of the CSHL play at Iceland Arena in Burton and the Michigan Mountain Cats of the GLJHL play out of Ice Mountain in Burton.
