The Northern Michigan Black Bears beat the Manitoulin Wild, 6-2, Friday night on the road and then took a 3-2 win at the Big Bear Arena Saturday night against the Abitibi Eskimos.
Michael Caprio (pictured) tallied a hat trick Friday night and goalie Tony Stoehr made 24 saves. Derek Stabile, Anthony Perdicaro and Ryan Huggett scored solos for Northern Michigan. Chris Cooper added three assists and Isaac Viau and Jesse Peltier chipped in with two assists each.
The game was 2-2 heading into the third period until the Black Bears scored four unanswered goals.
Saturday night, Caprio, Viau and Tyler Huskey paced the Northern Michigan attack and Stoehr finished with 17 saves.
The Black Bears host Blind River Saturday night and travel to the Soo Sunday evening.
