Plymouth Whalers goaltender Michal Neuvirth stopped 65 of 67 shots posting a 1.00 goals-against average and a .970 save percentage, while leading the Whalers to back-to-back playoff victories over the London Knights last week to earn OHL Player of the Week honors.
The 19-year-old recorded 29 saves on Friday in the opening game of the Rogers Western Conference Championship Series, which was held in London. Plymouth defeated London 5-1. The following night, Neuvirth made 36 saves in a 5-1 win on home ice. The Whalers are leading the Knights in the best-of-seven series, 3-0.
