Kennedy, an assistant captain with the Bandits, had three goals and 13 assists during the regular season.
“I’m not sure if we have ever had anyone as deserving for this opportunity than John," said Bandits coach-GM Jon Cooper. “He is a class act both on and off the ice and has been a great role model in the community.”
“I am honored to go to such a prestigious school that excels both academically and athletically," the 19-year-old Saginaw native said. "I want to thank the Bandits organization for helping this dream come true."
Kennedy is the ninth Bandit to commit to a Division I school this season.
