From the Western College Hockey blog...
The Port Huron Times Herald is reporting that Notre Dame has received a verbal commitment from Marysville goalie Joe Rogers.
Rogers has to be one of the most interesting stories in junior hockey. He was born with a birth defect in his glove hand, which makes it nearly impossible to catch pucks in his glove, but he has worked to become one of the best goalies in his age group.
He'll be playing Junior B hockey for the Petrolia Jets in the Western Ontario Hockey League.
UPDATE: The Times Herald ran a full article on Rogers this week. He'll join the Irish in 2009.
