There will be plenty happening when the Ontario Hockey League champion Plymouth Whalers host the Erie Otters in the season opener this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Compuware Arena.
Before the game, the AM-910 Radio Disney D-Tour will be on hand to greet the fans as they come into Compuware Arena.
The Whalers will raise their 2007 championship banner to the rafters of Compuware Arena in a pre-game ceremony. Plymouth coach-GM Mike Vellucci and OHL commissioner David Branch will be on hand to participate in the ceremony.
The J. Ross Robertson trophy and the Wayne Gretzky Western Conference championship trophy will be available for photographs with fans during and after the game. Plymouth photographers will be available to assist for a nominal fee.
Erie has been a frequent guest at Compuware Arena for the Whalers’ home opener, having played in 2000, 2002 and last season. Plymouth is 9-7-1-0 in home openers since 1990:
