Saginaw acquires Combs from Rangers

The Saginaw Spirit acquired forward Jack Combs from the Kitchener Rangers yesterday in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2006 OHL Priority Selection.

The 17-year-old native of St. Louis was the Rangers' second round pick in 2004 and had one goal and five assists, as an underager, in 59 games with the Rangers last season.

"Jack has been a point-getter and goal scorer throughout his developmental hockey career," Saginaw general manager and head coach Bob Mancini said. "We look forward to him bringing his skills to the Saginaw Spirit."

Combs is expected to join the Spirit for training camp in late August.
