Alpena heads to Mahoning Valley

The Alpena IceDiggers will travel to Mahoning Valley this Friday and Saturday night to take on the first-place Phantoms. Both games start at 7:00 p.m. and can be viewed from your computer on the Phantoms website at http://www.mvpphantoms.com/.

Currently, Alpena trails Mahoning Valley by five points with the IceDiggers having played two less games then the first-place club. Back in mid-December, the IceDiggers were defeated by the Phantoms by scores of 7-1 and 3-2 in Youngstown.

"As a team are looking forward to the weekend ahead," said Alpena head coach Kenny Miller. "We know in order to be successful in the North we are going to have to find a way to win in their building."

The IceDiggers are coming off a 5-4 New Year's Eve win over third-place Traverse City.
