Armada native involved in OHL trade

Rookie Windsor Spitfires' forward Thomas Battani, an Armada native, was traded this week to the Barrie Colts along with Windsor captain Mike Weber and a 2007 fifth-round pick for defenseman Blake Parlett and two second-round draft picks (2008, 2010).

"Thomas Battani is in the early stages of his development and will evolve into a solid OHL player," said Windsor head coach Bob Boughner. "He represented the Windsor Spitfires well on and off the ice."

Battani, 17, had three goals and three assists in 30 games for the Spitfires this year after being selected in the second round of last May's draft.
