Defenseman Jordon O’Neill, Plymouth’s fourth-round pick (73rd overall) a year ago, will join the Whalers for their three games in Barrie, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie this weekend after being called up from the Ajax Tier II Junior A team in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound O’Neill had eight goals and 16 points for the Attack this season in 34 games and went pointless in four playoff games. Ajax was swept in four straight games by the St. Michael's Buzzers in the opening round of the OPJHL playoffs.
O'Neill will wear No. 18 this weekend, but will switch to No. 34 after the road trip.
